Lawyer licensed in Brazil and with a Master’s degree and experience as a foreign associate in the United States. Thomaz is a specialist and reference in insurance, reinsurance, healthcare, financial services, and M&A. He has been advising local and foreign players in these sectors in Brazil for more than 20 years on regulatory and corporate matters, especially transactions, including M&A (global, regional and local), joint ventures, bancassurance and insurance distribution contracts, purchase and sale of insurance portfolios, organization of greenfield carriers, specific purpose insurance carriers (SSPEs) and local reinsurers, issuance of insurance-linked securities (ILS/LRS), and all types of corporate reorganizations. He conducted and participated in the most significant transactions of this nature in Brazil in the last two decades and has authored several articles and publications on insurance and reinsurance law and regulation in Brazil and abroad.
