Brazil′s Demarest Advogados and Houthoff Buruma in the Netherlands have helped Central Resources Group (CRG) secure refinancing worth US$150 million from BNP Paribas.
BNP Paribas turned to Mayer Brown LLP′s New York office its Brazilian associate Tauil & Chequer Advogados for the transaction that was signed on 31 October. CRG is also understood to have relied on New York firm Corbally, Gartland and Rappleyea LLP and BNP is believed to have relied on Loyens & Loeff in the Netherlands, although neither could be confirmed prior to publication.
CRG will use the proceeds to repay the principal and interest on a previous US$37.5 million senior secured credit agreement with South Africa’s Standard Bank, which relied on Jones Day New York and Machado, Meyer, Sendacz e Opice Advogados.
