Chilean pulp and paper maker CMPC has hired Machado Meyer Advogados in São Paulo and Barros & Errázuriz Abogados in Santiago to buy Brazilian tissue maker Sepac for 1.3 billion reais (US$335 million).

Sepac relied on Pinheiro Neto Advogados in São Paulo. The parties signed the deal on 5 August.

CMPC acquired Sepac through its subsidiary, Softys Brasil. The deal gives CMPC two plants that produce 135,000 tonnes of tissue papers and 175 million nappies per year. Sepac is based in the southern state of Paraná.
