Machado Meyer Advogados has hired a partner from Brazil’s first tech unicorn in São Paulo and recruited a corporate partner for its office in Rio de Janeiro.

São Paulo-based Diego Gualda, 35, joins from taxi company 99 – Uber‘s strongest Brazilian competitor – where he was head of legal. He also previously worked for Yahoo! as Latin American general counsel. Gualda will head Machado Meyer’s technology practice.
