Pinheiro Neto Advogados has helped Banco do Brasil and Bradesco acquire shares of credit card issuer Companhia Brasileiro de Soluções e Serviçoes from Visa International.

Visa sought counsel from Machado, Meyer, Sendacz e Opice Advogados and Lefosse Advogados in cooperation with Linklaters to sell its 10 per cent stake, of which 4.99 per cent went to Banco do Brasil, and the remaining 5.01 per cent to Bradesco, for a total of 171.4 million reais (US$102 million) on 24 January.

CBSS was represented by its in-house team.

Pinheiro Neto provides regular advice to Bradesco, acting for the bank in a US$500 million subordinated offer in January, and a US$1.1 billion bond placement last August. The firm also represented Banco do Brasil for its 9.76 billion reais share offering (US$5.42 billion).
